How to Get Started
It is important to remember to start off slow and steadily challenge yourself more each day. Here are some tips on walking:
- Make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes and supportive shoes.
- Start off at a steadier pace for a short distance. It’s ok to start off with a 10 minute walk; just make sure you continually increase this each week.
- Track your progress. It may be a good idea to invest in a step tracker.
- Stretch it out. Remember to warm up by stretching and starting at a slower pace for the first minute or so.
- Remember to breathe and stay hydrated!
Once you start getting more accustomed to walking, you can challenge yourself in different ways. This includes walking a bit faster or walking uphill.
